Xander looks pensive after we finish reading The Berenstain Bears' He Bear, She Bear, about how sex/gender is irrelevant to one's ultimate career. He says in a very worried voice,
"What about a rabbi? Mommy, boys can be rabbis too, right?"
I love the Berenstain Bears books and you did too, Michal. I'm so thrilled that you & Jonathan read them to your boys. The world certainly has changed since you were growing up, when girls needed to be told they "could grow up to be anything they wanted to be." Welcome to 2012. I like it. Now we just need more of us in the Senate and then the White House. Yes, Xander, boys can be rabbis too. It's been known to happen. Love, Bubby/Mom
