Amazing how they can turn you to mush so easily

As we're driving home from school today:

Him: "Mommy, will you tell me a story at bedtime?"

Me: "Sure, honey."

Him:  "Actually, can you tell me a story right now?"

Me: "Umm... [gazes out at heavy rush-hour traffic] I'm sorry, I can't, I have to focus on driving.  Why don't you tell me a story instead?"

Him:  "Okay.  Once upon a time there was a Mommy... named Mommy Loving.  And she didn't like violence.  Or sword-fighting.  But she did like swings... and playing with kids... and giving kisses and snuggles.  So they did.  The end!"

  1. Instead of a fantasy story, he decided to make one up from his experience....a biography.

How well he knows his mommy. How unequivocally complete is his trust in her.

I wish he could write his Congressman about the upcoming gun-control bills.
