One day I'll look back on this and laugh

So.  Two days ago I encouraged Jonathan to go to a movie, to de-stress a little.  He and Robin went to a late-late showing of Catching Fire.  As they were on their way back, Jonathan realized he had forgotten his satchel (man-purse) in the seat next to him in the theater. They went back, but they were the last ones out so the theater was closed. He went back bright and early as soon as it opened, looked where he left it, and... it wasn't there.  It also wasn't in lost and found, or anywhere else.  The manager said the only people in the theater was the night crew.

A half hour later, we checked credit cards and bank accounts and saw some major charges that were not ours.  Jonathan spent the rest of the day cancelling every card, visiting the bank, putting alerts with the credit report companies on his social security number, and going to the DMV to get a new license.  Today he's putting new locks on the doors and getting a new phone.

That was bad enough.  But oh, and did I mention that I have mastitis?  The midwife said it was possibly stress-induced.  That's really not fun either.

Sigh.

In the meantime... the baby is gaining weight like crazy.  I've been watching the Netflix original series Lilyhammer while nursing for hours on end. Ari is behaving much better at home now, but is worse at school.  And Xander is lonely and comes into our bed to sleep every night for the attention.   Thank goodness for people bringing over meals, otherwise this would be much more difficult!

  1. Michal, I remember having mastitis once. It was extremely painful. I thought that having the baby nurse more would help, but it didn't. It got so bad that just the feel of my shirt against my skin really hurt. The doctor said to take 2 Advil before I went to bed. I just took one. When I woke up in the morning, I was fine. The mastitis was totally gone. The doctor explained that mastitis is an inflammation and Advil is an anti-inflammnatory so it works. The dr. also said that mastitis is like having a flat tire on a car. It just happens.
I'm so sorry about Jonathan's bag. At least he got everything straightened out.
I love all the pictures and all of you look Great. Just keep hangin in there.
    Much Love to All, Sherry

    1. Wow, Sherry, I wish I was so lucky! My midwife told me to take Advil too, but it hasn't completely gone away yet. Besides that, I'm also taking a herbal tincture and trying to use heat compresses to release the milk. If it isn't better by tomorrow, I'll probably go on antibiotics.

And thank you! I'm really glad too.

    1. The bank did. The other credit card is still investigating for fraud. I'm sure it will work out though!

  3. Glad to hear that Connor is thriving! He's not affected the way his brothers are by the sudden "quiet" at home after the last whole month of joyous turbulence in the house-hold. It's gotta be tough for Ari and Xander.

Your mastitis concerns me. Not only is it painful, but it wears you out and drains you of energy. Are you receiving treatment for it? Is there a prognosis?...time-wise?

    1. You're absolutely right, Savta. Connor doesn't know anything, he's just happy with nursing, sleeping, and pooping. :)

As for the mastitis, I am receiving treatment, using herbal remedies. If it doesn't go away by tomorrow I'll go on antibiotics.
