Still acclimating..... bits and bobs

- Starting to remember that the average freeway speed here is 70, not 55.

- No longer thinking twice when people call me "rabbi."

- People here park in their driveway, not in their garage.  That's for storage!

And unrelated.... Sally Ride passed away, I'm so sad.  I wanted to be an astronaut for years after I saw her on Sesame Street.  That all ended once I arrived at Space Camp at the age of 12 and found out that I had to do *gasp* math and science.  Who wants to calculate the rocket's trajectory when I just wanted to blast off the rocket in the first place?!  New goal: first rabbi visitor in space!

  1. When I heard the news about Sally Ride, I just cried and cried. She was such an inspiration for you for so long. I felt like I'd lost a member of my family. And then to learn that she was a lesbian....well, I guess she was extended family.

Good to hear that the title Rabbi is feeling more comfortable to you. Wear it proudly. You earned it.

    Love,
    Mom
