In front of my desk. The tapestry Cathe made me from Temple Israel has a prominent place next to my diplomas.
Other side of the office. You can't see the rest of the bookshelves, but there are three more on that side. Then another one full of the beautiful Schottenstein Talmud set.
In case you wonder what I actually do: today I arrived a little before 9am. Spoke with a grieving family about officiating at an upcoming funeral. Had two meetings. Potluck lunch. Wrote a bulletin article. More meetings. Figured out the details of Outlook, which I hadn't used in years. Jonathan and the kids came to visit and meet everyone. Then I spoke with parents at summer camp orientation. Then dinner and a board meeting. I left at 8pm, tired but energized all at the same time. It was a good day.
The kids are adjusting a little better. And Jonathan's amazing, being the best dad and husband ever. I'm so grateful for my family, and for the congregation, who has made this move and transition as easy as possible.
Hooray for being out in the real world!
Your office looks awesome...and very organized! What a beautiful view you have behind your chair. Enjoy the space. I know you will make it a sacred space for those you serve.
